Media Library

The Media Library brings this project to life through a rich and evolving collection of 332 digital images, 122 videos, 22 audio files, and 2 documents. The repository reflects the collaborative efforts of researchers, scholars, and non-academic contributors whose work is directly or indirectly connected to HaP.

Principal Investigator Christiane Brosius offers a long-term visual record of Bungadyah Jatra in Pulchowk and Nugah, as well as phachās in Lagan-Thati. Researcher Monica Mottin contributes extensive video documentation of Jatra Nach performed by various dance companies, with some recordings lasting several hours. Her work opens critical conversations on performance, art, heritage, and religiosity. Researcher Binita Magaiya focuses on the intersection of documentation and archaeology, highlighting the importance of community participation in preserving everyday heritage objects that often remain outside global attention and recognition.

The Media Library also includes podcasts produced by HaP, creating a platform for scholars, artists, and activists worldwide to share critical perspectives and lived experiences related to heritage. Together, these voices encourage audiences to question dominant narratives and to engage with heritage as a dynamic and political process rather than a fixed past.
